I just finished this novel, and I really tore through quickly, I have to say. I was really intrigued by the story and enjoyed every bit of it. It's a suspenseful and entertaining journey through the forests, mountains, and small towns of North America, with a bigfoot by your side.The Bigfoot Runes tells about a book made by bigfoot creatures, a book that was featured in one of Mr. Wilson's short stories. The book took it in a different direction than I expected, but it was a great read.
The story here was closer to fantasy than mystery, exactly. It's not a book of great depth, complex characters, and profound truths about bigfoot, but it doesn't have to be. The basis of the story is so good, more isn't really required. Just sit back, lighten up, and read it. You'll love it.

I love stories about Bigfoot. I remember when we were told scary stories around campfire, but they weren't Bigfoot. I wish they had been. Thank you for sharing these stories. I am pacing my reading so I don't wear out the book. I love it so far. The first story is as good as I expected. I have no doubt that the rest will be just as entertaining. Better not read it before bedtime if you scare easy though. Ya may get nightmares. !!!
Rusty's stories are not only written in a way that keeps your attention, but stories that are believable. Usually most books written about this elusive animal deal with one encounter. In Rusty's books you get many reports in encounters, some being told that will get you hooked to read more. So needless to say I bought most all of Rusty's books their that good.
I purchased this book this past weekend, and haven't been able to put it down. Very interesting short stories as told to Rusty - generally around a campfire after a day of fishing. Well written, and very descriptive.The stories are presented as the witness telling the tale. You read and decide as to whether they are believable or not.
Loved this book a lot. Very well written so it sucks you in and you can't put it down. Some of the stories are a little far fetched, but I personally believe in Bigfoot and found all of these extremely entertaining. I am excited to read more stories by Mr.Wilson. I have read a few other Bigfoot story books but they are never as well written.
I LOVED this book! I have been a Bigfoot fan for many years and loved the way these stories verify behavior that is so common in Bigfoot sightings. I also loved the way some of the stories show how Bigfoot is capable of emotions as well as being a wild animal. But I wish the author hadn't turned it into a big joke at the end, it makes me wonder whether he is truly a believer, or is actually laughing behind his hand at the people he has interviewed. Regardless of how the author really feels, I will buy more of his Bigfoot books because the first one was TOO short!
Mr. Wilson presents all of these reports as "stories"--in other words as tall tales that he's collected while working as a wildlife guide. He makes no claim that any given tale is true. All of these stories, however, sound consistent with Bigfoot encounters recorded by investigators. Some of them are very creepy indeed! And they're more fun to read than a typical report from a field research group, which might be nothing more than a hairy creature caught for a nanosecond in a headlight beam.
Wasn't sure about these campfire tales until I finally ordered the first 2 in the series. Now I'm so totally hooked! I'm fascinated by the stories' details and the way they build the suspense. Some are actually almost heartwarming, showing a gentle side to such a fearsome looking creature, while others make you squirm with dread, wonder and fear putting yourself in the teller's shoes. I've ordered all the books, and I'm having trouble not devouring them too fast - I'm trying to hold off and just reading maybe three stories at a time, so I won't go into withdrawal before Rusty churns out some more. Unfortunately, am not having much luck, can't stop reading them !! They're like potato chips to me and I only have one full book left to savor! Hopefully Rusty is compiling more great stories in his knapsack for us to look forward to in the near future!
