First let me say that I really enjoyed the first book about Beetle very much, but it ended with a cliff hanger just begging for a sequel to resolve a lot of the unanswered issues. The second book does just that in a warm delightful manner that left me in tears at the end. It occurs a number of years after the first book ends, so the technology that created the "virtual woman" (VW hence Beetle - very clever) has really advanced in the near future world. Beetle, with her human helpers, is driven to find out what happened to her original creator and with her sister VW's help goes about finding out with many delightful surprises and twists to the story. Although some of the story takes place in the original academic environment (the writer has a good handle on that environment) most of it occurs outside of academia. In summary, get the first Beetle book, read it, savor this clever extension of today's technology and an inside view of college, then get Beetle II and find out what really happened - you will not be disappointed.Product details

Beetle II, the sequel of Beetle, is a heartwarming tale in which two virtual young girls, Beetle and Shadow, are the heroines. Unrelenting perseverance and honesty are two of their greatest attributes. As they work tirelessly with several other characters to uncover what had happened to Jeff and Annie, the main characters in the first book, the imaginative plot filled with suspenseful moments grabs the reader and doesn't let go.
A plethora of upbeat dialogue, involving the colorful characters, keeps one thoroughly engaged. In addition, the sense of fairness possessed by other strong characters is definitely refreshing. And of course the intriguing twist near the end is an added bonus bringing closure to the first book.
What if these ingenious virtual girls were to team up with Steven Spielberg? What an extraordinary movie that would be!
Be sure to read Beetle before reading Beetle II. They are both delightfully written.
